Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms throughout the U.S. with our staffing services for over 65 years. Our Sacramento, CA region international aerospace client (metal machine shop) is looking for multiple direct Machinists and Lathe Operators to join their organization. The CNC lathe machinist openings are 2nd shift, Monday-Friday 4:00pm-1:30am (includes time and one-half overtime each week). There is also 1 first shift manual lathe opening. Intro/training period usually begins on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift. First shift hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm.
If the candidate is outside of the region, there is a sign-on bonus of up to $5K to help with relocation. If local, there is a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
The hourly rates:
I= 27-31/hr 10% shift diff for 2nd shift
II= 34-39/hr 10% shift diff
III= 40-46/47/hr 10% shift diff
The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
- Validate material used
- Maintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; Know when to replace worn tools
- Listen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standards
- Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
High School education and or GED
Min 2 years of experience machining with CNC lathes (preferably CNC single and double spindle lathes) that includes various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages
Min 2 years of experience machining with CNC lathes (preferably CNC single and double spindle lathes) that includes various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages
Min 2 years of experience working with safety procedures and regulations
This is an ITAR facility - U.S. Persons required (Green Card ok)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- CNC-Mills
- Understanding of CNC G Code
- Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing; Understanding of cutting tool Geometry
- Knowledge of tooling and coordination.
- Understanding of basic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry
- Excellent teamwork skills
