Position Overview
We are seeking a Psychiatric Clinical Lead - Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric expertise within an integrated behavioral health and collaborative care model.

This position focuses on the assessment and treatment of individuals experiencing psychiatric symptoms, cognitive deficits, and behavioral concerns. The Psychiatric Clinical Lead will collaborate with behavioral health care managers, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams to guide treatment planning, monitor patient progress, and recommend appropriate adjustments to care.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop treatment recommendations
• Provide regularly scheduled consultation to behavioral health care managers and interdisciplinary teams
• Recommend treatment adjustments, including medication recommendations and other appropriate interventions
• Communicate plans of care to primary care providers and community providers
• Provide telephone consultation to medical providers regarding complex patients and challenging situations
• Respond to routine provider and behavioral health care manager calls within one business day
• Respond to urgent calls within two hours when available
• Provide psychoeducation, advocacy, emotional support, brief psychotherapy, family-based interventions, and cognitive/behavioral interventions
• Provide psychopharmacology services and prescribe medications based on current pharmacological and physiological knowledge
• Monitor mental status and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions
• Use evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to support screening, diagnosis, and treatment
• Evaluate diagnoses and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes
• Help coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare and integrated patient care
• Provide education and in-service training to primary care providers and staff regarding behavioral health conditions
• Provide support and education to patients, families, staff, and groups regarding mental health conditions and psychiatric disorders
• Maintain accurate clinical records and follow established workflows
• Maintain productivity standards
• Participate in continued professional development
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements
Education:

• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required
• Graduate-level specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing required
• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred

Licensure and Certification:

• Current, unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license required
• Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification with a Psychiatry/Psychiatric Mental Health specialty required
• Current national board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) required
• Current DEA registration required
• New York State prescribing privileges required
• Must meet all applicable New York State requirements for prescribing controlled substances

Preferred Experience

• At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, including prescribing experience preferred
• 3-6 months of experience in geriatric care preferred
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required

Additional Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultures
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfortable using a computer or laptop for clinical documentation
• Ability to travel to other regions or counties in New York as assigned
• Valid unrestricted driver's license and registered/insured vehicle highly preferred

Physical and Functional Requirements
The position requires the ability to:

• Sit for extended periods, including 6-8 hours per day
• Stand for periods of up to 6 hours per day
• Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds of equipment and supplies
• Safely assist with patient movement as needed
• Bend and squat when necessary
• Walk between work areas and sites and safely navigate stairs
• Demonstrate sufficient fine motor skills for typing and operating medical equipment
• Visually assess patients and accurately read orders and complete documentation
• Listen attentively and communicate clearly with patients, providers, staff, and community members
• Demonstrate sound judgment, reasoning, cognitive ability, and analytical skills necessary to perform essential job functions
