Employee Benefits Underwriting Analyst

• Develop and maintain client deliverables including new client onboarding materials, renewal projections, benchmarking reports, and custom contribution models tailored to complex funding arrangements (fully insured, self-funded, and level-funded).

• Roll over and adapt client templates for new plan years or structural changes, ensuring continuity and accuracy in all documentation.

• Produce and refine reporting such as monthly/quarterly utilization, financial, and experience reports, including input updates and visual adjustments for high-value clients.

• Prepare funding analyses and comparative models, including ASO spreads, fully insured equivalents, and strategic contribution modeling for optimized plan design.

• Negotiate with insurance carriers (both incumbent and prospective) to secure competitive rates and product offerings aligned with client goals.

• Communicate strategic insights and deliverables through client-facing calls, regular email communications, and presentations, incorporating feedback to enhance service quality.

• Support operational excellence by training team members, tracking workflow in ImageRight, staying up-to-date on industry trends and legislation, and participating in meetings and seminars.

• 3 years in the Employee Benefits industry
• Four-year degree; preferably focused on mathematical field
• Minimum 1 year in an excel intensive technical role
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel in creating and working with pivot tables, complex charts / formulas, large datasets, and data visualization
• Knowledge of ImageRight / Benefit Point / Springbuk / Deerwalk / Domo a plus
• Analytical, able to analyze claims data, compare quotes and have accuracy and decisiveness
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communications skills

Salary: $50,000-$80,000/year DOE
