The Opportunity: Customer and Billing Services Supervisor
Join us as AWWD’s Customer and Billing Services Supervisor. This position reports to the Finance Manager as a member of the District’s Administration, Technology & Finance Department and plays a key leadership role in delivering accurate, efficient, and customer-focused Utility Billing Services.
This position is responsible for overseeing utility billing operations, supervising customer and billing staff, ensuring compliance with District policies and regulatory requirements, and supporting the financial integrity of billing and cash handling processes. The Supervisor leads customer service operations, resolves complex and escalated account issues, oversees billing adjustments and reporting, manages vendor relationships related to the Customer Information System (CIS) and payment processing services, and supports audits and budget preparation.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative and service-oriented leader who thrives in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. This individual will demonstrate strong supervisory and coaching skills, sound judgment, and the ability to balance operational accuracy with exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess experience in utility billing operations, internal controls, cash handling, reporting, and process improvement, along with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The hourly rate for this position is $49.04 - $65.73 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications (with a starting rate of $49.04 - $56.78 per hour).
A valid Washington State Driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required for all classification levels.
The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District provides an array of employee benefits that we feel contribute to an overall desirable compensation package for employees.
