Alderson Loop is seeking a Middle Office Operations Specialist to support the Middle Office Trade Management team within Global Investment Operations at a Fortune 500 Investment Firm. This role is responsible for supporting the trade lifecycle from post-execution through settlement while ensuring accurate trade processing, reconciliation, and operational efficiency during a major software migration. The position partners closely with Front Office, Risk, Technology, and external service providers to resolve trade issues, minimize operational risk, and support day-to-day business activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including allocations, reconciliations, and trade settlement.
- Perform daily trade reconciliations across equities, fixed income, ETFs, derivatives, private placements, and bank loans.
- Investigate and resolve trade breaks, settlement exceptions, and operational discrepancies.
- Assist with corporate actions, collateral and margin-related activities, and other middle office functions.
- Support business-as-usual operations during an upcoming trade management software migration, including reconciliation efforts and data validation.
- Document business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.
- Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Technology, and external vendors to ensure timely trade processing.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and proprietary reconciliation/reporting tools to monitor activity and produce operational reporting.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Middle Office, Trade Support, Operations, or a related investment operations role.
- Experience supporting one or more of the following: trade settlements, trade support, derivatives, collateral and margin management, bank loans, or securities operations.
- Knowledge of investment products, including fixed income, equities, ETFs, derivatives, and/or private loans.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle processes, settlement, reconciliation, margin requirements, and collateral management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Middle Office experience is highly preferred; candidates with relevant Front Office or Back Office experience and a strong understanding of trade lifecycle concepts will also be considered.
- Experience supporting system implementations, software migrations, or operational transition projects is a plus.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
