Job Description

Summary

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean facility by completing various tasks. This role focuses on performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that our buildings are safe and clean

Roles and Responsibilities

• Cleaning floors
• Scrubbing and sanitizing toilets, urinals, sinks, and kitchen fixtures
• Vacuuming rugs and carpets
• Emptying trash cans
• Washing windows
• Dusting surfaces
• Cleaning spills, broken glass, and other messes as quickly as possible
• Making a detailed list of cleaning supplies needed for the manager to order
• Maintaining a thorough inventory
• Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications

• Able to work independently and with little supervision
• Able to handle long hours standing and walking
• Physical strength and stamina to move and handle equipment
• Able to multitask
• Knowledge of health and safety standards

The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures. Welders must wear the following personal protective equipment at all times: Protective eyewear (welding helmet or other as prescribed), Protective handwear (welding gloves as instructed), Hearing protection, Metatarsal safety shoes, and Welder mask to assure breathing protection, as instructed.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
