Assistant Accountant (6 Month FTC)

Our client is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent role.

The position supports the preparation of US financials and assists the US Country Finance Manager with month-end tasks, reporting, and analysis. This role oversees day-to-day accounting processing, reconciliations, and financial accuracy across the US business.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform weekly bank reconciliations and resolve unreconciled items; process deposits.
• Update intercompany balances and coordinate with operations on missing items.
• Prepare and post journal entries (fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, deferred/accrued income).
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and the accrual/WIP tracker.
• Prepare monthly margin analysis and support margin review work.
• Support month-end close (5–10 day timeline) and quarterly/year-end processes.
• Assist with audits, research accounting issues, and help with AP/AR as needed.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal finance projects.
• Ensure compliance with information security and global data protection standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; Sage X3 experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
• Proactive, team-oriented, and able to build strong working relationships.
• Ability to remain seated for extended periods; occasional travel may be required.
