Responsibilities:
You will serve as an Aircraft Mechanic Leader and will responsible for providing leadership and/or training to your assigned workforce, performing journey level aircraft mechanical maintenance, as well as a variety of other tasks related to aircraft maintenance.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Passing on instructions to subordinates from supervisors, making work assignments, establishing workflow, setting the pace for work completion and distributing and balancing the workload.
- Demonstrating proper work methods and providing technical guidance.
- Repairing and adjusting a variety of aircraft mechanical and electrical systems, components and assemblies such as hydraulic, oil, fuel, pressurization systems; landing gear assemblies; cable controls; hydromechanical clutches; and accessory drive gear boxes.
- Assuring written instructions and reference materials are available and followed and that safety regulations are complied with.
- Keeping in touch with subordinates concerning the status and progress of work, making adjustments to meet deadlines and dealing with backlogs.
