What are the responsibilities and job description for the Periodontal Assistant position at Albuquerque Periodontal & Implant Specialists?
Periodontal practice in Albuquerque, NM specializing in periodontics and dental implants. We are professional, focused on caring for our community, and provide a respectful/social office culture. As a Periodontal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to our patients and will work closely with the dentist to ensure efficient/smooth operations in the dental office. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work well in a team will contribute to the success of our practice.
Duties:
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare rooms and sterilize instruments/equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, pre- and post-operative care
- Manage patient records, including charting, obtaining current health history, updating care plans and maintaining confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments, help front desk operations efficiently. Handle phone calls with professionalism, demonstrating strong phone etiquette
- Support front office tasks as needed, including presenting treatment plans and collecting payments.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure effective communication and patient care.
- Communicate with patients and referring offices in a timely and professional manner
Experience/Qualifications:
- Current NM Dental Assistant/Radiology License required
- CPR Certification preferred
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
- Strong organization skills and customer service experience
Pay rate negotiable, dependent on experience and qualifications
