Essential Functions
- Safely transport students along established routes.
- Complete pre-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment for students.
- Follow all transportation procedures and traffic regulations.
- Report vehicle issues or route concerns promptly.
- Serve as a positive representative of Albuquerque Academy while traveling with students and staff.
- Support the School and its mission, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
- Foster and maintain a culture of mutual respect, equitable practice, and joy.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and communicate and collaborate effectively across differences.
Other Responsibilities
- Monday through Friday morning route.
- Students must arrive on campus no later than 8:00 a.m.
- Additional afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend hours are available for athletic and extracurricular events.
- Schedule varies based on Academy activities.
- On call availability for other routes preferred.
- Attend employee meetings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
- Previous school bus or commercial passenger transportation experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, coaches, and Academy staff.
Special Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Experience working with students is preferred.
- Ability to pass all required background checks, motor vehicle record reviews, and pre-employment screenings.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

- Consistent weekday morning schedule.

Physical Demands
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections and safety checks.
