Associate Director, Medical Communications – Rare Disease (San Diego, CA)  

 

Rare diseases require rare dedication — and this role offers the chance to shape global communication strategies that directly impact patient care. Join a dynamic medical communications agency as an Associate Director and lead programs across a portfolio of rare disease therapies.

 

What you’ll do:

 

Develop and drive publication strategy for global rare disease programs.

Partner with clients, investigators, and cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment.

Lead the creation of manuscripts, abstracts, and congress deliverables.

Oversee account teams, providing leadership, mentoring, and quality oversight.

Contribute to business development through proposal support and client engagement.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

Solid track record in medical communications/publications, with leadership experience.

Expertise in rare disease or specialty therapeutic areas strongly preferred.

Strong strategic thinking, client relationship, and project leadership skills.

Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, or MSc preferred).

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
