Role Description This is a full-time, fully remote Litigation Paralegal role. The firm is based in Carlsbad, CA, but all personnel work remotely. The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys handling trust, will, and probate litigation matters from case intake through trial and post-judgment activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and preparing legal documents, organizing and managing case files, coordinating discovery, and assisting with trial preparation. The role involves conducting legal and factual research, summarizing documents and testimony, and managing deadlines, calendars, and court filings. The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys, clients, courts, and third parties to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient case progression.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in legal document preparation, including drafting correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and other case-related documents.
- Experience with document review and file management, including organizing, indexing, and summarizing case materials and evidentiary records.
- Proficiency in legal research using online and traditional resources, with the ability to synthesize findings into clear, concise summaries.
- Hands-on experience preparing pleadings and motions, including formatting, cite-checking, and filing with state courts (California experience preferred).
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent education; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Prior litigation paralegal experience, ideally in trust, probate, or civil litigation is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with legal case management software, e-filing systems, and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar).
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively with attorneys and staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ethical practice, client service, and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of case work.
