Duties
- Install new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems according to schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design specifications.
- Conduct system troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and refrigeration gauges to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, including boilers, refrigeration units, and appliances.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, mechanical drawings, and plumbing diagrams to ensure precise installation and service.
- Utilize welding skills and mechanical knowledge to modify or repair ductwork, piping, or equipment as needed.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems to ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
- Operate a
driver vehicle safely while transporting equipment or materials to job sites. - Collaborate with service technicians on complex repairs involving ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, HVAC installation, or service technician roles with a strong mechanical background.
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology, and property maintenance practices.
- Hands-on experience with appliance repair, equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and general maintenance tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R systems including ammonia refrigeration units and refrigeration components.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately; familiarity with Ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Valid
driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating field service vehicles preferred. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently in the field.
