Position Overview:
The Steel Erection Planner (St. Louis-based; Minimal travel) is responsible for providing schedule, erection sequencing, logistics, and equipment selection on steel erection scopes for pursuits and awarded projects.
- Ability to create the project start-up guide & quality assurance program.
- Capability to help read and build a 1-2 month look ahead work schedule.
- Scheduling of labor, materials, equipment and is knowledgeable on EWM procedures.
- Experience with the purchase of project construction materials.
- Read and understand contracts with both owners and subcontractors.
- Develops and maintains relationships with owners, engineers, craft workforce and other contractors.
- Participates in project planning meetings.
- Sets sequence and directions for field and subcontractor work forces.
- Ability to assist PM on estimating change orders.
- Ability to prepare and sequence site logistics within budget and schedule restraint.
- Foresees and mitigates schedule conflicts with subcontractors and self-performed work.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 years of experience in the construction field as a Supervisor.
- Expertise with self-perform steel erection scopes of significant size.
- Corresponds through and is proficient with Microsoft suite applications, in addition to familiarity with Primavera and Procore.
