POSITION SUMMARY
The Plant Manager directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities as a part of Hillsdale Fabricators, a premier structural steel fabricator and erector.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties include the following; however, other duties may be assigned. - Directs and manages Responsible for labor relations and managing union issues associated with craft labor.
- Manages capital asset maintenance.
- Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Controls and minimizes repair expenses.
- Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; replaces or makes adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Provides leadership and training to accomplish Company goals and objectives.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Manages and directs non-supervisory administrative or union employees and is responsible for the overall direction and management of these employees.
- Travels to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
- Exhibits regular and reliable attendance in person as required by the Supervisor, Company guidelines, and/or project and office obligations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years’ plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing in a union environment required.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financials statements required.
- Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
