Primary Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled inspections of assigned school and support facilities to evaluate cleanliness and overall condition using established quality standards and APPA criteria.
- Record inspection findings using digital platforms such as tablets, smartphones, inspection software, and Microsoft applications.
- Provide clear written documentation and scoring that accurately reflects observed conditions.
- Take detailed photographs to support inspection results.
- Partner with custodial leadership and team members to ensure consistent application of evaluation standards.
- Share feedback that helps teams identify areas for improvement and maintain service quality.
- Complete priority or special inspections as directed to address operational or customer needs.
- Maintain professional and respectful interactions with staff and building occupants while remaining impartial in evaluations.
- Communicate observations clearly and professionally when clarification or follow-up is needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including additional tasks that support custodial operations and overall facilities services.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of related work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (zero or positive point balance required and must be maintained).
- Familiarity with APPA cleaning standards and custodial practices.
- Ability to assess environments carefully and make consistent decisions within established guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to apply objective judgment.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn district inspection protocols and scoring systems.
- Comfortable working independently for extended periods.
- Proficient with mobile devices and common software applications.
- Physically able to walk throughout facilities and bend or stoop as necessary during inspections.
