| General Definition of Work:
Responsible for evaluating and repairing all electronic/pneumatic control systems in Albemarle County Schools. Complies with safety standards in accordance with Albemarle County guidelines. This position is designated as "Essential Personnel", which requires that employees report to their job site during emergency situations, such as snow, inclement weather, or other emergency situations. May be on call 24 hours, 7 days a week for emergency situations, including weather and other building emergencies. |
Essential Functions:

| Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in installing and repairing interfacing energy management systems. Familiar with control logic, including electrical/pneumatic interfacing. Some basic knowledge of programming and some basic experience in electrical/pneumatic experience e for trouble shooting control circuitry. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. |
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school or vocational school and three or more years experience in pneumatic controls and supplemented by energy management interfacing in the controls field. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid drivers license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must obtain a commercial drivers license within 6 months of employment. |
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work Contacts: Performance of more strenuous physical tasks, such as (a) walking over rough or uneven surfaces, (b) bending or stooping, (c) working in confined spaces, or (d) lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of items weighing over 100 pounds; Complex operation of gasoline, diesel or electric-powered machinery or shop equipment, requiring the manipulation of multiple controls or fine adjustments; Exposure to potentially disability injuries or illnesses; Regular contacts made with individuals from: (a) other internal organization units, (b) outside organizations, and (c) the general public for purposes of exchanging factual information which requires some judgement or interpretation in order to be responsive to questions or applicable to a specific situation; Communication is usually cooperative in nature, with most conflicts resolved by higher authority. |
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the above responsibilities. |
