Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using various equipment such as
pickers and order picker machines to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. - Manage warehouse inventory through proper stacking, organizing, and storing materials in designated areas while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties by verifying shipments, processing documentation, and ensuring timely dispatch of goods.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal operation of forklifts and heavy machinery.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse procedures to promote a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate materials handling activities and support warehouse management system (WMS) updates for accurate inventory tracking.
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, order picking techniques, and materials handling best practices.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse safety standards.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and weight assessments.
- Prior experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
