What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist - 1.0 FTE position at Albany Unified School District?
Observe referred pupils in the classroom and/or in other learning situations; individually evaluate cognitive, affective and sensory functioning of referred pupils; prepare psychological reports summarizing assessment results, including recommendations for educational management and/or placement; use appropriate IEP forms and procedures for identificaton of exceptional students; consult with school personnel and other professionals about diagnostic findings concerning pupils; provide teachers with practical suggestions about dealings with difficult pupil behaviors; assist teachers in developing educational programs; provide psychological services to selected students;confer with community resources agencies to obtain needed services for pupils; confer with parents in school or at home to discuss relevant issues including the pupils social and emotional adjustment, test interpretation and educational goals; make referrals and serve as a resource person to school staff concerning the functions and responsibilities of community agencies as well as specific learning and behavior problems and effective techniques for dealing with these problems; provide for continuity of educational planning for pupils by conferring with other school districts about pupils transferring into or out of the district; other duties as assigned
