Albany State University is seeking a Director of Student Health Services to lead its Student Health Services department. This on-site position provides strategic vision, leadership, and management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally competent health and wellness services that meet the needs of students.
The Director of Student Health Services is responsible for establishing priorities, developing policies and procedures, managing the operating budget, selecting and overseeing vendors, supervising healthcare and support staff, coordinating campus responses to emergencies and disasters, ensuring compliance with institutional and legal regulations, and representing the university in state system and community discussions related to student health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set goals and objectives for Student Health Services.
- Order equipment and supplies while maintaining inventory.
- Organize health care services for students at Albany state University.
- Plan and implement health education programs and resources.
- Submit an annual report to the Vice President of student Affairs.
- Assess students to determine appropriate treatment or the need for referral.
- Establish policies and procedures for the operation of Student Health Services.
- Work an eight-hour shift, five days a week, and be on call as needed 24 hours a day.
- Supervise Health Services staff and collaborate with the Consulting Physician during consultation sessions.
- Report to the Vice President of Student Affairs regarding the operation and welfare of the department and assess the needs and status of the unit.
- To support the successful execution of Title III initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing (MSN) with a specialization as Nurse Practitioner.
A current and valid Nurse Practitioner license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia.
3-5 years of professional work experience in student health services, public health, or a related field, combined with demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
