Hepatitis C Elimination Coalition Coordinator
Status: Full-time (37.5 hours), OT exempt; benefit eligible, $55k - $60k Annual Salary
Location: Must reside within NYS, 25% Travel Reports to: Director of Community Mobilization
Overview: Assist in coordinating the involvement and engagement individuals with lived experience to foster community-driven change, awareness, and collective action to support NYS’s in the Hepatitis C (HCV) Elimination Initiative. The initiative’s intent is to develop a regional network of HCV Elimination Coalitions across the state to develop community mobilization plans towards ending the HCV epidemic and addressing persistent health inequities.

This position will advance local strategies HCV elimination by planning and executing regional priority projects identified through engaging community members with lived experiences, community based organizations providing services to people living with or at risk of HCV and analyzing data to identify inequities and promote strategies to increase health and racial equity within the region.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in public health or equivalent experience, with two years of experience in human services.
2. Knowledge of HCV and the NYS Hepatitis C Elimination Plan, the issues impacting people living with HCV, including HIV/HCV coinfection in the selected region.
3. Demonstrated support skills and enthusiasm for convening underserved populations and facilitating groups. Experience with participating in legislative advocacy and education.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Establish and support a regional HCV Elimination Coalition to plan, implement, and evaluate activities.
2. Increase community education of HCV prevention, testing, and treatment, empowering community members and groups to take action to facilitate change.
3. Increase public support by identifying, engaging, and working with other community, government and non-traditional partners/stakeholders to advance HCV elimination.
4. Provide targeted outreach, training, and support to persons with lived experience of HCV to fully participate in coalition committee meetings and activities.
5. Act as a bridge between underserved populations and resources to identify community needs, build trust and develop sustainable solutions.
6. Assist the Program Director in ensuring active involvement in the development and execution of action plans and activities, and legislative education days.
7. Work collaboratively with the other regional HCV elimination coalitions.
8. Fully engage in self-care to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
9. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
