Position Summary
The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking applications for a part-time faculty position in the Department of Life Sciences. Faculty are needed for the following: Organic Chemistry I Lecture, Organic Chemistry I Lab, Organic Chemistry II Lecture, Organic Chemistry II Lab.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Florida, Maryland, Wisconsin, and California . Responsibilities
Adjunct faculty need a strong understanding of the subjects they teach with the primary goal of educating their students. The typical Adjunct faculty job duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing a course syllabus for each class they teach
- Lecturing, leading class discussions and conducting other teaching activities during scheduled classes
- Creating, administering and grading various assessment methods
- Answering questions and providing additional support for students
- Calculating and submitting grades for all students
- Collaborating with other professors to create coursework or support the department
- Following established expectations and protocols for the department
- Conducting research and staying current in the field
Compensation
- $4600 per three credit hour lecture course
- $3900 per three contact hour lab
- appointments are per semester
- appointments are renewable based on need and performance
- Possesses a working knowledge of the content matter of the supported course.
- Has technological ability to understand and utilize TurnItIn, Canvas, Zoom, and other necessary instructional software.
- Has necessary maturity, responsibility, integrity, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have an MS or PhD in a relevant field.
- Ideal candidates will have a documented interest in teaching at the undergraduate level that includes prior independent teaching experience.
