Position Summary
The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking applications for a part-time adjunct instructor position in the Department of Allied Health Sciences to support the College’s MS in Cytotechnology and Molecular Cytology program. Working under the guidance of the Program Director, the individual with assist with laboratory sessions and demonstrations in one or more of the following courses for the Fall 2025 semester: Cytopathology of Female Genital Tract, Exfoliative Non-Gynecologic Cytopathology I, and Cytopreparatory Techniques I.
Qualified applicants should have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in Cytotechnology or a relevant discipline, and ASCP certification as a Cytologist/Cytotechnologist.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. - Assist in the preparation of laboratory activities, visual and technical aids, case studies and other pertinent instructional materials.
- Help facilitate laboratory sessions, discussions, and demonstrations.
- Help students develop slide screening skills to achieve diagnostic accuracy.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and student development is essential.
- Excellent communication (verbal/written), interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe, Office 365, OneDrive, and Zoom.
- Minimum of a baccalaureate degree in Cytotechnology or a relevant discipline, and ASCP certification as a Cytologist/Cytotechnologist.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cytotechnology.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of one year of teaching/clinical education experience, as well as experience with online/distance learning.
