MECHANICAL DRAFTER POSITION
Job description
Must be local to the Houston, TX Area
Must pass background and Homeland Security E-verify
· Be responsible for mechanical design, layout, production drawings, and preparation of test procedures of ALATAS Americas’ products.
· 3D CAD/Modeling using Solidworks.
· With support of other engineering disciplines, design and document cost-effective mechanical parts and assemblies to support product development.
· Work as part of our Engineering team to develop new products and production methods.
· Work with our Business Development team on bid & proposal activity.
Job Qualifications (Required):
4 years of 3D modeling experience using Solidworks. Familiarity with PTC Creo or a similar is a plus.
4 years of 3D model development and producing 2D manufacturing drawings.
4 years of structural design and layout.
Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance per ANSI Y14.5
Familiarity with Mathcad.
Familiarity with PDM (Product Data Management) systems.
Hands-on measurement and data collection for reverse engineering.
Good communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Welding design according to AWS D1.1, or Heavy structural design experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various trades.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Familiar with industry standards such as ASME, API, AWS D1.1, and Classification Society rules such as DNV, ABS.
Familiarity with cranes and machinery construction & repairs is a big plus
