AlaSkins is a mission-driven, woman-owned Alaskan company and leader in the 100% Fish movement. We transform wild Alaska fish skins (salmon, halibut, cod) — once considered waste — into premium, single-ingredient pet treats packed with natural Omegas and vitamins.
Our work supports sustainable fisheries, zero-waste innovation, and pet health. Through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit AlaSkins Discovery, we educate Alaska youth via camps and the Blue Salmon: 100% Fish board game. We’re in a growth phase with a manufacturing partnership (Kenai Fish), new facility in Soldotna, national expansion, and exciting new lines including Arctic Omega Cream (halibut oil skincare) and human fish skin snacks.

Role Overview
Full-time, on-site Operations Manager in Soldotna. Oversee daily operations, order fulfillment, inventory, quality, and production coordination (including ramp-up of new products) in partnership with our manufacturer. This hands-on leadership role requires flexibility, including weekend availability during peaks.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate production, quality, and food safety for pet treats and new lines.
- Manage inventory, online/wholesale orders, and shipping.
- Supervise, train, and motivate a small team in a positive, high-performing culture.
- Organize schedules and maintain a safe, efficient workspace.
- Drive process improvements and support growth initiatives.
- Handle basic admin, vendor/customer communication, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience in food production, manufacturing, or seafood processing (pet industry experience a plus).
- Team leadership/supervision skills with ability to train and motivate.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to quality, food safety (HACCP/PCQI a bonus), and cleanliness.
- Physical ability for production environment (lift 50 lbs, stand for periods).
- Flexibility for weekends and a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Genuine passion for sustainability, 100% Fish principles, and Alaska’s fisheries.
Valued Traits: Positive attitude, sense of humor, resourcefulness, and resilience in stressful or changing situations.
