Alaska Family Services (AFS) is seeking an experienced Director of Clinical & Transformative Services to provide strategic leadership for our clinical programs while helping shape the future of behavioral health services in Alaska.

As a member of our leadership team, you'll play a key role in advancing that mission by guiding clinical excellence, supporting staff, and ensuring the delivery of innovative, trauma-informed care.

What You'll Do

As the Director of Clinical & Transformative Services, you will:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for clinical and non-clinical programs.
  • Guide staff through complex client situations and provide clinical support.
  • Support employees in managing the emotional demands of behavioral health work.
  • Train and mentor staff on clinical documentation standards, Medicaid compliance, and social work/clinical best practices.
  • Promote ethical, trauma-informed, and evidence-based services.
  • Ensure programs meet quality, licensing, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support program growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen services and expand community impact.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a behavioral health-related field, including sociology, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, addiction studies, human services, or social work.
  • Current Alaska professional licensure (LCSW or LPC) and current NPI number.
  • Minimum of two years of mental health and/or substance abuse clinical experience serving children, youth, and adults.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
