What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior HR Generalist and Business Operations Specialist position at Alan Biller and Associates?
We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist and Business Operations Specialist to apply "best practices" to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations, records management and compliance, and support improvements in operational efficiency across a growing organization. This position is on site at our Menlo Park, CA office.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Oversee and manage employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, changes and separations, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Maintain and audit employee records ensuring data accuracy and integrity in the HR system
- Manage leave of absence programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and other leave requirements across a multi-state workforce
- Respond to employment verifications and unemployment claims
Business Operations
- Support payroll operations, including review of payroll changes, employee expense reimbursements and as backup to the Payroll Administrator when needed
- Coordinate benefits administration including enrollments, vendor communication, open enrollment and invoice reviews
- Monitor HR compliance deadlines and assist with policy updates
- Develop, implement, and maintain company employee policies, procedures, and handbooks
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive HR experience across payroll, benefits, compliance, workers’ compensation and leave experience supporting a multi-state workforce with salaried employees
- Strong understanding of HR and Operations best practices
- Systems: Proficiency with MS Office, Excel and BambooHR
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters
- Collaborative and approachable communication style
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
