Quality Assurance Assistant

Alamo Biologics, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, is a distributor of high-quality tissue allografts to physicians, dentists, hospitals, surgical clinics, and tissue banks.

We are seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Assistant for our growing company. This position reports to the Director of Quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience: Must have working knowledge of PC software applications using Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software programs as required.

Salary: $17.00 per hour

Skills:

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer skills required.

Abilities:

• Must be professional, detail oriented, self-motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently.
• Must be a self-starter and self-directed worker.
• Must maintain a good working rapport with all departments and able to keep information confidential.
• Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.

Essential Functions:

• Provides administrative support to the Quality department.
• Responsible for filing, pulling, and compiling documentation for the Quality department.
• Responsible for company record retention maintenance.
• Assists in the maintenance of Quality Assurance documentation and databases.
• Assists in maintaining facility and equipment maintenance documents and requirements.
• Assists in employee training file maintenance.
• Assists in editing and preparing SOPs and forms for routing in the QMS.
• Reads and complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and forms.
• Maintains confidentiality of records.
• Answers department telephone, directs calls, and takes messages.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Will sit, stand, walk and bend during working hours. Required to lift and carry relatively light materials. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing within normal range.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated office. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work weekends.
