The Educational Liaison at Quest Academy provides site-based support focused on improving student attendance, reducing chronic absenteeism, and strengthening student engagement for expelled and system-impacted youth. This position works closely with students, families, staff, probation, community agencies, and school districts to address barriers impacting school participation and academic success. The Educational Liaison supports transition planning, family outreach, attendance interventions, mentoring, and coordination of community-based resources as part of a multidisciplinary team, while helping create a safe, supportive, and relationship-centered school environment that promotes consistent engagement and student success. Due to the needs of the students and families we serve, candidates must be bilingual Spanish-speaking.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an 11 month, 230 day position. Calendar will be provided upon hiring. THE POSITION: The Educational Liaison supports the holistic needs of vulnerable and systems impacted students including but not limited to chronically absent, adjudicated, foster, or homeless youth. Grounded in a whole-child approach, this role provides case management to ensure students receive individualized holistic support, including access to basic needs resources, academic, social emotional, college and career services, school transitions/placement, and other wraparound services deemed necessary to remove barriers from student success. The Educational Liaison also fosters collaborative relationships with families, schools, and partner agencies, to create a network of support that promotes student well-being and academic success. This job reports to the assigned administrator. LOCATION: Quest Academy, Hayward 27211 Tyrrell Ave Hayward, 94544 TYPICAL DUTIES: Works closely with school staff, families, community partners, and external agencies (e.g., child welfare, probation, school districts) to coordinate services and ensure students have access to necessary support. Provide assessments to develop and monitor student care plans, adjusting strategies to meet changing needs, and ensure appropriate services are provided to support student success. Oversee and facilitate student enrollment in appropriate school placements or alternative options, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent school attendance to promote academic stability. Facilitate and provide academic support. Connect students and families with essential services, including academic support, mental health services, and other community resources. Engage in wellness education (i.e. teaching students practical strategies that support their wellbeing, decision-making, and ability to stay engaged) and skill building conversation to support and accomplish student goals.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience working with youth in a formal, professional setting. Prior experience working with youth with learning disabilities and/or at-risk student populations; Conflict Resolution training desired. Equivalency: A combination of relevant education and work or lived experience may be considered in place of the stated requirements.
