The Alaka’ina Foundation Family of Companies (FFOCs) is looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant II to support our Corporate office in Orlando, Florida.
The Accountant II (Accounts Payable) supports the AP Accounting Manager with mid‑level accounting responsibilities, focusing on accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, vendor account maintenance, and financial reporting support. This position supports timely and accurate financial processing which helps ensure compliance with DCAA-aligned accounting standards.

The Accountant II (Accounts Payable) supports the AP Accounting Manager with mid‑level accounting responsibilities, focusing on accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, vendor account maintenance, and financial reporting support. DESCRIPTTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process intercompany payable vouchers and subcontractor invoices
- Enter and process accounts payable transactions with a high level of accuracy
- Review, research and resolve invoice discrepancies and exceptions
- Code vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and established accounting procedures
- Maintain and monitor a high volume of vendor accounts
- Reconcile assigned accounts to the general ledger and follow up on outstanding items
- Assist with preparing documentation and schedules for year-end audits and compliance reviews
- Collaborate with junior accounting staff to support workflow and issue resolution
- Manage SharePoint and Deltek Costpoint approval workflows to ensure timely processing
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar field.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two to four (2-4) years of accounts payable experience
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in Excel and general PC applications
- Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with the Deltek Costpoint Accounting System
- Government accounting experience is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar field
