Role Description This is an Independent Medical Sales – Independent Distributor role that is a fully remote with travel to customer sites as needed. The distributor will be responsible for promoting and selling Alafair’s hydrogel-based medical devices within an assigned territory. Day-to-day activities include identifying and prospecting new accounts, conducting product demonstrations, and providing educational support to surgeons and clinical staff. The role involves managing the sales cycle from initial outreach and needs assessment, through through pricing discussions, order facilitation, and post-sale follow up and customer service. The independent distributor will collaborate closely with Alafair’s internal teams to gather market feedback, support product launches, and communicate activities and opportunities along with territory needs and support . This position requires regular travel within the territory to hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and clinical practices.
Qualifications
- Successful track record in medical device or healthcare sales meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge of hospital and surgical environments, including experience working with surgeons, OR staff, and materials management or purchasing teams.
- Strong prospecting, needs assessment, networking, and relationship-building skills with surgeons, clinical staff, gate keepers and hospital decision-makers.
- Ability to deliver clear product demonstrations, clinical in-services, and educational presentations to diverse healthcare audiences.
- Self-motivated work style with excellent time management, territory planning, and organizational skills suitable for an independent distributor structure
- Comfort with remote work, digital communication tools, and coordinating travel within an assigned geographic region.
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory and occasionally for company meetings, trainings, or conferences.
- Prior experience launching new products, navigating VAC processes is a plus, especially in biologics or surgical implantable device markets.
- Prior experience as an independent distributor or 1099 representative in the medical device industry is preferred.
