Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates tutors.
- Creates tutoring schedules and coordinates administrative functions related to tutor payroll.
- Provides consistent and frequent verbal and written communication to the academic staff and coaches regarding the academic progress of assigned student-athletes.
- Works with academic advisors to review student-athlete class scheduling, degree plans, academic progress, and schedule necessary tutorial services.
- Conducts tutor training throughout the semester to assist with the development of all tutors.
- Coordinates the evaluation of the student-athlete success and tutors.
- Maintains tutor training materials and tutor manual consistent with Alabama State University Athletics and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Provide communication and programming regarding student-athletes with education-impacting disabilities.
- Work closely with the athletic advisor to coordinate and implement individualized academic plans for designated student-athletes.
- Assists with recruiting presentations when necessary.
