After School Program Director

To coordinate and oversee the district's after-school and summer enrichment programs.

To provide leadership that promotes student achievement, enrichment, safety, and positive youth development.

To supervise program personnel and ensure effective program operations.

To serve as liaison among students, parents, staff, community partners, and district administration.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.

Valid Alabama educator certification preferred.

Retired educator or administrator preferred.

Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.

Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills.

Ability to use technology to communicate, maintain records, manage data, and prepare reports.

Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities.

Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.

Coordinates all daily operations of the after-school and summer programs.

Supervises certified instructors, instructional aides, volunteers, and other program personnel.

Develops schedules, procedures, and enrichment opportunities designed to meet program goals.

Ensures a safe, orderly, and positive environment for students and staff.

Maintains program attendance, records, inventories, and required documentation.

Assists with budget monitoring, purchasing requests, and resource allocation.

Coordinates communication with parents and community partners.

Ensures compliance with district policies, grant requirements, and state and federal regulations.

Collaborates with school administrators and instructional staff to support student success.

Maintains confidentiality regarding student, school, workplace, and personnel matters.

Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for program improvement.

Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.

Engages in professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics, sound judgment, and leadership.

Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local laws.

Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
