Employment Announcement Psychologist III (Mental Illness Option) Announcement Number 26-08 Job Code P6000 Employment Type Full-Time Job Location Bryce Hospital Tuscaloosa, Alabama Salary/Pay Rate Range 87 ($100,168.80- $168,468.00 Annually). Additional Salary Salary will be commensurate with experience. Limitations apply to current State Information employees. Open Date 04/17/2026 Close Date Until Filled Minimum Qualifications Doctorate degree in Psychology. 36 months or more clinical experience in psychological treatment and assessment.. Key Responsibilities
• Prescribes, provides, and supervises direct care services for adult patients.
• Provides group and individual therapy and crisis management programs.
• Conducts initial psychological assessments, psychological assessment updates, psychological testing, forensic evaluations, Hospital Review Board evaluations, violence risk assessments, and suicide risk assessments.
• Participates in treatment planning for adult patients including participation in treatment team review meetings, individual treatment planning conferences, and other team meetings.
• Supervises non-doctoral psychology staff members, students, and interns as assigned.
• Assesses, interprets, and monitors data related to the provision of services.
• Provides leadership as a member of the Clinical Management Team.
• Obtains and maintains state licensure as a psychologist, certification as a forensic examiner, and obtain and maintain membership of the Bryce Hospital medical staff.
• Ensures compliance with hospital standards. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
• Knowledge of treatment strategies, various diagnostic disorders and categories, psychological assessment instruments, and conflict intervention techniques.
• Ability to interact with patients, families, and other professionals in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to make clinical assessments and decisions, conduct therapy, and supervise subordinates.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use a personal computer and various software programs.
• Ability to ensure compliance with hospital standards. Necessary Special Requirements
