Position Overview
Aksia is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Private Markets Client Operations team. Our client operations team is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting and middle/back-office solutions to our global client base. The incumbent will also collaborate daily with Aksia’s investment, risk, data and Pan Alternatives professionals. Ideal candidates will be highly detail oriented, possess excellent quantitative analysis skills, and be comfortable working in an ever-evolving environment.
This position can be based in Aksia’s Chicago or San Diego office, or fully remote and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee middle and back-office operations, reporting, and account services on a variety of private market funds, portfolios, and products
- Manage client relationships and oversee the onboarding of new clients, review of legal documents, and the set-up of systems and reports
- Manage credit facilities and process drawdowns and repayments, including calculation of borrowing base
- Manage FX hedging program, including processing hedging rolls and margin calls
- Manage long-term liquidity models and analysis
- Working on the year-end audit process, in collaboration with the client and auditors and service providers
- Train and supervise a team performing operations/back office functions
- Foster strong partnerships with cross functional teams (e.g. Pan Alts, Risk, Investment and Operational Due Diligence)
- Serve as a subject matter expert for internal/client questions
- Liaise with investment managers, third party fund administrators, and banks
- Support corporate goals and business/departmental initiatives
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in client operations or fund accounting, ideally at a public accounting firm, investment manager, fund administrator, or other financial institution.
- Demonstrated experience working on funds subject to the Investment Company Act, the Investment Advisers Act, Securities Act, and Securities Exchange Act
- A thorough understanding of investment management operations and accounting, specifically private equity, private credit, or real assets
- 2 years of experience supervising, training, delegating tasks, and managing a team
- Experience with FXall and ClearPar preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
- Knowledge of US GAAP with an emphasis on accounting for investment funds
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel
