AkroFire is seeking a Materials Planner who is responsible for developing and implementing efficient production schedules, managing inventory to meet customer demand, and ensuring procured inventory levels are maintained according to plan. The primary duties of this job require administrative, non-manual work directly related to business operations involving responsibility for processes and policies of significance, evaluation of possible solutions and results of the work for which the employee is responsible and making recommendations and/or decisions accordingly using professional judgment. Job Accountabilities:
- Utilizes MRP in the planning, monitoring, and launching production work orders in support of Operations’ objectives, on time customer order fulfillment
- Works on a wide variety of complex planning activities where production techniques are new or variable
- Reschedules in case of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs and other interruptions
- Epicor Subject matter expert for site planning and inventory management.
- Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools.
- Organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications:
Education: Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Knowledge of procurement/planning best practices and experience with managing tight development program deadlines in aerospace/manufacturing environment
- Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems; specifically, EPICOR
- Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Solves complex problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to drive tasks to completion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- APICS certification a plus
