Job Summary
My client seeks an experienced backend developer passionate about building scalable, efficient systems for our sports data platform. This role involves developing features, debugging data issues, and enhancing API support for sports web redesigns, contributing to our top-rated sports and fantasy apps. We're looking for someone excited to push the boundaries of sports technology, working on high-impact projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop features and bug fixes for the GraphQL Sports APIs.
- Debug and identify data problems; create tickets for the ingestion team.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Coordinate with the web frontend team and other client teams to support Sports API data gaps.
- Support the end-of-life (EOL) transition for legacy sports APIs by addressing feature gaps in modern GraphQL APIs.
- Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, and server-side API programming on Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithm design.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
- Previous experience in sports or a related field is highly desirable.
- Independent worker with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment and a passion for sports.
- Experience developing GraphQL servers and familiarity with relational databases like MySQL.
