Job Summary
We are seeking a Design and Release Support Engineer for steering systems, tasked with evolving components such as Steering Gear, I shaft, and Steering Column for our leading-edge electric vehicles. This role involves collaboration with interfacing system engineers and cross-functional teams to bring design concepts to production efficiently. The ideal candidate will guide technical development activities, ensuring the integration of components meets rigorous safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Steering system components' design tasks from concept to production.
- Document components' requirements concerning desired vehicle functions.
- Lead development activities with suppliers under tight constraints of time, cost, and technical requirements.
- Contribute to DFMEAs and DVPs, and participate in system failure mode analyses.
- Ensure component compliance with safety and structural standards through detailed assessments and support continuous design improvement.
- Proficient in CAD and CATIA V5/V6.
- Strong understanding of chassis and steering systems.
- Experience with design release engineering, including change management.
- Minimum 5 years in the automotive industry, with a focus on safety-critical components.
- Knowledge of automotive mechatronics and hydraulic systems preferred.
