Teradata Developer with Python and Hadoop

Akkodis is seeking a Teradata Architects/ Teradata Platform Engineer experience for Contract (W2) with a client in Jacksonville, FL / Plano, TX/Charlotte, NC - Hybrid - (3 days onsite in a week). Ideally, we are looking for candidates with a strong background in Teradata, Platform Architecture, Hadoop, Python Script, Data Engineering & Architecture and ETL.

Pay Range: $70 -$73/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in Python programming and Teradata to design, develop, and optimize data models and pipelines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building scalable data solutions, integrating large datasets, and ensuring data quality and performance across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain data models using Python and Teradata for analytics and reporting.

Build and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines for large-scale data integration.

Collaborate with business analysts and data scientists to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Implement best practices for data architecture, data governance, and performance tuning in Teradata.

Develop reusable Python scripts for automation, data transformation, and validation.

Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Document technical designs, workflows, and processes for future reference.

Required Skills Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Python (data manipulation, automation, and scripting).

Hands-on experience with Teradata (SQL, query optimization, data modeling).

Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake, normalization).

Experience with ETL tools and data integration frameworks.

Knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization in Teradata.

Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).

Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
