Salary Range: $93,000/year to $123,000/year. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer II job responsibilities include:
- Lead the development of complex, light-based medical devices from concept through validation and manufacturing transfer
- Drive innovation and contribute to the organization’s IP portfolio
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, and external partners
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485, CE)
- Oversee design documentation, validation processes, and product lifecycle improvements
Desired Qualifications:
- MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field preferred)
- 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering within optical, laser, or medical device industries
- Strong expertise in opto-mechanical systems, optical packaging, and thermal management
- Proven leadership in guiding complex development projects and cross-functional teams
- Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (PDM preferred)
- Deep understanding of product development within regulated environments
Location: - Marlborough, MA (with <20% travel)
