Akkodis seeks a Scientific III for a 12-month contract with a client in Swiftwater, PA.
Title: Scientific III
Duration: 12 months Contract
Compensation: $75-$79 per hour (Rate negotiable based on experience, education, and location)
The successful candidate will have laboratory experience in cell culture and reactor operation, specifically in spike protein production related to COVID-19. Aseptic techniques, reactor experience, and cell culture or bacterial experience are essential. The role involves 90% lab work, including sampling, harvesting, and analyzing, as well as 100% onsite work.
Focusing on bioreactor studies for process development and improvement, the Scientific III will author protocols and reports while following company safety procedures and compliance standards. They will lead investigations to resolve problems and identify root causes, working with glass and stainless steel reactors, and performing manual labor tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Work experience in a cell culture or bacterial laboratory
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree/Graduate Degree in Science (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry)
- Ph.D.'s with research experience welcome
- Strong communication, math, and computer skills
- Experience writing and revising documents (e.g., testing methods, protocols, reports)
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Traits of a team player with collaborative work experience
Preferred qualifications include experience with 2 L to 10 L Glass Reactor and/or 200 L SUB, general knowledge of rHA and rS proteins.
