Akkodis is seeking a Oracle Exadata DBA / Engineer – Ansible Automation for a Contract job with a client in Plano, TX/Chandler, AZ/Charlotte, NC(Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.
Rate Range: $60-65/Hr; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Exadata DBA/Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database administration, Exadata infrastructure, and Ansible automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases on Exadata platforms, troubleshooting database and infrastructure issues, and automating routine DBA tasks using Ansible.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support Oracle databases running on Oracle Exadata infrastructure.
- Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot database, SQL, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Manage database backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery activities.
- Work with Exadata components, including database servers, storage cells, and associated infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate database administration and repetitive operational tasks.
- Automate database patching, configuration management, validation, and routine maintenance wherever applicable.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and improve the reliability and efficiency of operational processes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and application teams to resolve production issues.
- Follow enterprise security, compliance, and database operational standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration.
- Experience administering Oracle databases on Oracle Exadata.
- Knowledge of Exadata architecture, storage cells, and database infrastructure.
- Experience with Oracle database patching, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing Ansible playbooks.
- Experience using Ansible to automate database administration or infrastructure management tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting enterprise or production database environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle RAC and ASM.
- Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard and high-availability configurations.
- Experience with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Exadata monitoring, diagnostics, and performance optimization.
- Experience with automation and configuration management in large enterprise environments.
