We are working with a top Akkodis client that is looking to add a skilled NDT X-Ray Inspector (Level III). This individual will perform advanced digital radiography inspections on high-pressure turbine blades and aircraft engine components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have Level III radiography certification, strong image interpretation skills, and experience evaluating components against engineering specifications while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
The role offers a pay rate of $50.00–$60.00/hour (W2), includes benefits, and likely full-time conversion. Additionally, we can likely offer a per diem for anyone not local and needing to commute into the area to work on-site.
Job Responsibilities for the NDT X-Ray Inspector (Level III):
- Perform digital radiography and computed tomography inspections on aircraft engine turbine airfoils and related components.
- Evaluate radiographic images and interpret test results in accordance with manufacturing blueprints, process specifications, and work instructions.
- Accurately document inspection findings and maintain historical inspection records.
- Conduct daily equipment setup, calibration verification, and quality control checks to ensure inspection accuracy.
- Perform radiation safety surveys and maintain compliance with all radiation safety requirements and annual training standards.
- Collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams in a production environment to support operational goals.
Job Qualifications for the NDT X-Ray Inspector (Level III):
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Level III Radiography Certification meeting NAS 410 requirements.
- Minimum of 80 hours of formal radiography classroom training and 800 hours of radiography experience.
- Ability to successfully pass general, specific, and practical radiography examinations.
- Experience with digital radiography inspection methods; digital radiography certification preferred.
- Previous experience inspecting cast turbine airfoils and aircraft engine components preferred.
- Strong understanding of radiographic imaging techniques, equipment calibration, interpretation of inspection results, and documentation requirements.
- Manufacturing experience preferred, including the ability to apply geometric, trigonometric, and algebraic principles in inspection processes.
