Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for 8 months contract with a client located in Phoenix AZ
Pay Range: $52/hr. - $60/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Must Have:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• MS or PhD Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
• Proficient in using StarCCM , or other COTS thermal analysis tools.
• Proficient in working with CAD models, using NX or other equivalent CAD software.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in gas turbine engineering design and analysis.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skill.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and analysis expertise in axial and radial turbine blades and vanes with or without internal cooling.
• Knowledge of turbine cooling and durability.
• Perform professional mechanical engineering assignments such as heat transfer and secondary cooling flow analyses.
• Create, execute and calibrate 2D and 3D transient conduction-convection thermal models using NX thermal or equivalent software.
• Create and execute 3D conjugate heat transfer models using StarCCM or equivalent software.
• Advanced skills in using CAD software to generate and manipulate geometries for vanes and blade turbines components.
• Communicate technical results to internal and external customers and stakeholders
