Mechanical Designer Engineer II/III

Akkodis is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer II/III for a manufacturer in the Gainesville, TX area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay ranging from $38 an hour to $47 an hour depending on experience, education and location and which level of designer you qualify for. This position performs design coordination of seats and seat components. Coordinates between various customers and vendors. Interfaces with Program Manager on project development and design progress. Reviews customer requirements and specification and relates them to product design. Monitors day-to-day design progress as required. Assures conformity of product and that engineering deadlines are met. Works and makes decisions independently with little supervision.

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree)

•Or must have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree.

Work Experience - Technical knowledge-

• plus an additional 3-5 years of related design experience required with Bachelors degree.

• plus an additional 4 years of related design experience required with Masters degree.

Professional Skills-

• Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer.

• Requires advanced knowledge of aircraft seat products.

• Must have good knowledge of materials and production processes, and mechanical knowledge of parts and stress conditions.
