What are the responsibilities and job description for the HV HiL Test Engineer position at Akkodis?
Akkodis is recruiting for a HV HiL Systems Integration Engineer to support the development and automation of High Voltage (HV) test systems. This is an onsite contract position with a pay range of $45 an hour to $58 an hour depending on experience, education and location. This is a onsite lab-and-software role for an engineer who can both bring up HV test equipment and build the automation needed to scale its use.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with HV hardware, instrumentation, battery emulators, charger emulators, AC/DC load banks, and bench automation, along with solid Python skills to integrate test equipment with tools such as ECUtest, CANoe, dSPACE, NI, and Keysight. This role will support validation of BMS, DCFC, charging, and power electronics systems.
Responsibilities
- Bring up and integrate HV test bench hardware, including battery emulators, charger emulators, AC/DC load banks, instrumentation, and I/O modules
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation and communication frameworks for HV HiL benches
- Interface bench equipment with validation tools such as ECUtest, CANoe, dSPACE, NI, and Keysight
- Configure and troubleshoot communication using CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, and UDS
- Support validation of BMS, DCFC, charging, and power electronics systems
- Diagnose hardware/software integration issues and improve bench automation
- Maintain test bench documentation and support HV safety practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- 7-12 yrs in High voltage testing with dSpace integration experience
- · Experience with dSPACE, NI, Keysight, ETAS. ECUtest, CANoe, or similar platformsKnowledge of automotive communication and diagnostics, including CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, and UDS
- Understanding of HV safety and high-voltage vehicle systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Simulink, ConfigurationDesk, or plant model integration
- Experience building reusable automation frameworks for HV test benches
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-assisted development tools to accelerate scripting, debugging, and test automation workflows
