About the job:
Akkodis is seeking a Document Control Specialist for a contract role in Santa Clarita, CA (Onsite). This role will support engineering and quality teams by managing and maintaining controlled documents within a PLM system in a regulated medical device environment.
To be considered, candidates should have strong experience in document control, change management, and PLM systems, along with a solid understanding of medical device quality standards.
Pay Range: $40/hr. – $45/hr. on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Document Control Specialist responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain engineering and quality documents within PLM systems
- Support design and document change control activities (CO/CR/ECO)
- Create, update, review, route, and archive documents per defined procedures
- Track document status, approvals, revisions, and effective dates
- Ensure compliance with medical device quality management systems
- Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams
- Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
- Support audits by providing required documentation and records
- Prepare reports and dashboards related to document control activities
- Ensure timely closure of documentation tasks based on project timelines
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6–8 years of experience in document control or related roles
- Experience with PLM systems (Windchill, Agile, or similar)
- Strong understanding of change control processes (CO, CR, ECO)
- Experience in medical device or regulated industry
- Knowledge of ISO standards and quality systems
- Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and product lifecycle processes
