Akkodis is seeking CAE Engineers with our direct automotive client in Dearborn, MI. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years of experience with Analyst, HyperMesh, CAD/Meshing tools in an automotive background.
Rate Range: $40/hr to $42/Hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Position Description:
The CAE Structural Engineer performs finite element-based studies to virtually validate vehicle structure parts (component- and subsystem-level), supporting the Engineering team with design guidance and performance predictions.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads the System Design Specification analysis, design development and results documentation of exterior systems components. Ability to create and modify finite element models that predict vehicle structure performance by following the corporate requirements and procedures. Conduct CAE model audits. Help to develop new analytical capabilities for a better prediction and physical tests. Participate in global forums and meetings to share technical information about new procedures and new ways of simulation. Coordination with other areas such as: Design and Release Engineers, CAE teams, Digital Innovation, Suppliers, Vehicle Engineering and Manufacturing, to develop integral solutions using math virtual simulations. Produces and evaluates solutions to improve the quality and cost of the designs, based on specialized engineering knowledge. Interpret results from CAE and physical tests for the development of feasible countermeasures to meet systems and component-level requirements. Correlate CAE models with physical tests.

Experience Preferred:
HIGHLY PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Good understanding of material properties. Knowledge of FEA theory and Structural CAE, Durability and/or Fatigue CAE Analysis. Knowledge of both Linear Static and Non-Linear Dynamic analyses, including impact FE analyses. Knowledge in meshing & post-processing software like ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView and MetaPost. program is desirable. 5 year Experience with Abaqus, NCODE, Nastran and/or other commercially available FEA program for structural and fatigue analyses are desirable. Knowledge of automotive product development processes and validation. Knowledge of welds and fatigue theory. Knowledge of statistical and optimization tools/techniques. Demonstrated ability to devise, create, or adapt novel analysis methods. Evidence of technical excellence as indicated by technical presentations and reports. Familiarity with Teamcenter and Catia. 90% English skills (Oral, reading, writing, and listening) Strong analytical and communication skills, Programming skills, Python, Mathlab, C, CC , or other
