Akkodis is seeking an Application Security Engineer for a 6-month contract role with a client in Sunnyvale, CA (3 days/week onsite).
To be considered, candidates must have strong hands-on experience in manual web and mobile application penetration testing. This role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities, performing secure code reviews, and assessing applications that incorporate AI/ML or LLM-based technology.
Pay Range: $58/hr. to $60/hr. The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Application Security Engineer job responsibilities include:
· Perform manual web application and mobile penetration testing in enterprise environments.
· Conduct code-assisted reviews, architecture assessments, and threat modeling exercises.
· Identify, validate, and prioritize vulnerabilities, delivering remediation recommendations.
· Assess applications and services that incorporate AI/ML models or LLM functionality, including model APIs and inference endpoints.
Desired Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree.
· 6 years of experience in Application Security, Penetration Testing, or Security Engineering.
· Proven experience manually testing web and mobile applications.
· Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, CWE Top 25, SSRF, XSS, SQLi, XXE, etc.
· Proficiency in one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP) and one programming language (Java, Objective-C).
· Familiarity with MacOS or Unix/Linux systems and secure network architecture.
· General knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, KMS, RDS).
