Infrastructure Engineer 2

Akkodis is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer 2 for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. This role requires hands-on experience designing, operating, and maintaining enterprise and hybrid cloud systems to support internal business needs.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $62/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Infrastructure Engineer 2 Job Responsibilities Include

• Design, operate, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including hybrid cloud platforms, virtualized environments, and specialty systems such as mainframes and high‑performance computing resources.
• Research, design, and implement scalable infrastructure solutions to support internal workloads, including containerized systems, data platforms, identity and access management, and on‑demand scaling.
• Configure and manage secure virtual machines, networks, and storage systems (SAN, HDFS, SSD) in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Monitor system performance using existing or custom-built tools to ensure reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Analyze and optimize resource utilization across CPU, memory, storage, and network to prevent bottlenecks and control operational costs.
• Plan future capacity needs based on usage trends and collaborated with enterprise architecture teams to inform infrastructure roadmaps.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of overall IT experience, including at least 3 years in infrastructure engineering and development environments.
• Hands-on experience designing, operating, and maintaining enterprise, hybrid, or cloud-based infrastructure (Microsoft Azure required).
• Proficiency in at least one coding language or framework, with experience supporting scalable, secure, and performance-optimized systems.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $62.00 per hour
